More than a thousand industry leaders gathered at the photonics expo. On March 20, the highly anticipated 18th Munich Shanghai Photonics Expo opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center under the theme “Technology Leads, Photonics Lights the Future.” Covering the photonics upstream and downstream chain, more than 1,000 global leaders in lasers, optics and optoelectronics showcased innovative products and solutions, pointing the way for the industry’s future.

As a leading Chinese high-power semiconductor laser manufacturer, Xinghan Laser presented pumps, lasers, modules and intelligent laser equipment—demonstrating integrated R&D, manufacturing and sales across the full laser chain. On the opening day, multi-platform livestreams also attracted audiences at home and abroad and received high praise from industry professionals.

Major launch: Xinghan air-cooled handheld laser cutting & welding X3

On day one, Product R&D Director Kou Lingtao introduced a major new machine for the equipment business—the air-cooled handheld laser cutting & welding X3. Versus conventional welding, the series offers lighter weight, higher efficiency, better results, easier operation, lower energy use and fewer hazards. With an array-type 3D phase-change thermal structure, a self-developed intelligent temperature-control system and a powerful proprietary laser engine, it works stably from −20°C to 40°C with consistent weld quality.

In Xinghan’s test lab, the X3 passed more than 7×24 hours of continuous lasing. This long, uninterrupted stability helps manufacturers protect productivity and weld quality while saving time and cost—and provides strong technical support for intensive industrial production. The cut-and-weld X Series can shine across metalworking, automotive and aerospace, offering a better, more efficient cutting and welding choice and helping accelerate new quality productive forces.

Technology and quality control—near military-grade standards

Chief Scientist Dr. Ding Liang shared the latest breakthroughs in high-power semiconductor laser technology and high-power optical-field control. Across high-power chips, high-thermal-conductivity ceramic heatsinks, high-brightness pumps and precision complex beam shaping, Xinghan continuously launches innovative products. Dr. Ding emphasized that Xinghan not only turns frontier science into real products, but also delivers them to market through rigorous testing at high standards—quality comparable to military-grade requirements.

Full product lineup on display. Beyond the global launch of X3, Xinghan fully upgraded its booth with the broadest variety and quantity in its exhibition history—including high-power semiconductor lasers from 10 W to 6000 W, a high-brightness 1800 W semiconductor laser module, an automotive-grade 940 nm 15 W high-reliability LiDAR pump, a 1000 W high-power wavelength-locked 976 nm pump, a 200 W high-brightness fiber-output blue module, 450 nm blue lasers and the D9 series 2000 W water-cooled direct diode lasers.

The busy booth attracted experts, peers and customers for exchange and partnership discussions throughout the show. Looking ahead, Xinghan Laser will continue to keep technology leadership, stay customer-centered and market-driven, and open new application fields for semiconductor lasers to support healthy growth of the photonics industry.
