Live from the Global Photonics Event | How Xinghan Laser Leads New Industry Trends
From March 11–13, 2025, Laser World of Photonics China—one of the world’s most influential photonics events—drew more than 1,500 exhibitors across 80,000 m², expecting over 80,000 visitors. Focusing on “photonics manufacturing” and “photonics sensing,” the show highlighted the latest industry trends. As a leading Chinese semiconductor laser technology company, Xinghan Laser presented three core product matrices and four underlying technology pillars, winning industry attention with innovation and ecosystem collaboration and attracting domestic and international visitors.

1. High-power semiconductor laser chips: foundational technology enabling product innovation

Performance testing and iteration. Semiconductor laser chips are the core of semiconductor lasers. Starting from this foundation and cooperating with domestic research institutes, Xinghan has developed high-power, high-brightness 9XX-band GaAs chips. After a year of R&D, chip brightness and efficiency were further improved: the latest 50 W chip raised brightness from 13.1 W/100 µm to 15.6 W/100 µm, with efficiency above 58% at 50 A—strengthening technology self-reliance and supporting device and system iteration.

2. High-power semiconductor laser devices: enabling laser intelligent manufacturing and helping customers open niche markets


Xinghan’s fiber-coupled semiconductor laser pumps range from tens of watts to 6 kW and support 105–600 µm fibers. At the show, Xinghan presented a 2100 W–976 nm–365 µm pump with integrated red aiming light to reduce overall cost of kW-class fiber lasers and improve integration. Through continuous iteration in brightness and power, Xinghan provides reliable, cost-effective pump solutions for fiber-laser customers.
The global ultrafast laser market was USD 1.79 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach USD 2.21 billion by 2032 at a CAGR of 11.3% (Business Research Insight). Ultrafast lasers are expanding rapidly in consumer electronics, aerospace and medical device manufacturing. Xinghan’s WS976 (wavelength-stabilized 976) and WS878 ultrafast pumps offer better energy efficiency for precision manufacturing. The ultrafast/solid-state pump lineup includes WS976, WS878, WS888 and WS885 from 10–1000 W. Xinghan also showed 793 nm pumps for 2 µm thulium fiber lasers and 200 W–105 µm blue modules for plastics processing and highly reflective metal welding—empowering high-end laser applications through differentiated pumps.

3. Direct diode lasers (DDL): scenario-driven innovation for differentiated markets

Xinghan continues to expand DDL solutions for industrial processing and emerging applications, combining large spot size and near-flat-top energy distribution with fiber-laser hybrid welding advantages that are difficult to match with conventional approaches.
