On the morning of August 30, the OFweek 2023 Laser Industry Core Components Technology Forum was held at the Shenzhen (Futian) Convention & Exhibition Center. Focusing on core laser components, applications and trends, the forum gathered renowned experts, scholars and associations from across China.

Xinghan Laser Marketing Director Xu Panpan attended as a guest speaker and delivered a keynote: “Xinghan Laser—Committed to Becoming a Global Leader in High-Power Semiconductor Laser Technology & Solutions,” introducing the company’s latest layout in high-power semiconductor lasers. Xinghan remains focused on R&D leadership, customer needs and market pull, continuously opening new application fields. Core technologies include high-power high-temperature-resistant chip design, high-thermal-conductivity ceramic heatsink design/manufacturing, micron-precision high-polarization die bonding, precision laser optics design, automated optical coupling, atomic-level hermetic sealing and external-cavity wavelength stabilization. Patent layout around chips, modules and optical assembly has exceeded 120 patents (30+ inventions). The product matrix spans blue to IR wavelengths and powers from several watts to multi-kilowatts.

Xinghan also actively expands the upstream and downstream chain. In laser chips—the core element of semiconductor lasers—Xinghan closely cooperates with global leader Coherent to iterate GaAs chips and was among the first to achieve automated mass production of high-power pumps based on 50 W chips. Since 2019, deeper cooperation with domestic institutes has broken through key chip design/manufacturing challenges such as ultra-large asymmetric cavities, Al-free quantum wells, high-damage-threshold facet passivation coating, kink-free performance and stray-light immunity, completing 45 W chip tape-out and initial device validation.

On the go-to-market side, business units are organized by application segments: fiber-laser pumps, LiDAR pumps, solid-state ultrafast pumps and blue lasers.

Xinghan products are widely used in marking, cutting, welding, cladding, cleaning, medical applications and LiDAR. After long market validation, Xinghan is the only semiconductor laser manufacturer globally to commit to a five-year warranty, earning strong worldwide reputation.

In China, competition in mid/low-power CW and Q-switched lasers is intense and markets are near saturation. Leading laser companies are exploring new scenarios, new markets or downstream equipment expansion based on their strengths—one trend amid economic headwinds.

Xinghan will follow this trend through continuous semiconductor-laser iteration: keep technology leadership, open new applications beyond industry, deepen differentiated niches, bring industrial laser technology into consumer markets, and accelerate globalization.
